Can You Believe What she Said?!

This Must Be Stopped!

We teach out teens how to enjoy fruits and vegetables that are grown locally. We encourage our teens to grow and use the items they produce. We encourage our teens to be one with nature and give back with produce like fresh vegetables.

You Can Grow Your OWN Food

You Can Harvest and Eat

Our Purpose

The Food for Fuel project directly addresses food security and nutrition By teaching teens how to grow fresh produce using sustainable gardening practices, the project enhances food access, ensures a consistent source of nutritious food, and educates participants about healthy eating.

Food for Fuel

FOOD FOR FUEL IS A YEAR LONG PROGRAM THAT FOCUSES ON HEALTHY LIVING,

HEALTHY THINKING, AND

HEALTHY EATING TO CURB DIABETES AND OBESITY IN CHILDREN

During the school months August to May, we feeds our teens. During the summer months, we incorporate our Little sprouts ages 6 to 14. We partner with our local food bank: Second Harvest all year long and the Summer Breakspot Meals program provided by the Federal Government through our local government. We are always looking for volunteers to help feed our little ones.

Our Key Benefits

Changing Generational Mindset Is the #1 Priority

Improved Access to Nutritious Food

It ensures a consistent supply of fresh, nutritious food, which can help reduce dependence on processed or unhealthy options often found in food deserts.

Economic Empowerment and Self-Reliance:

These gardening skills can also be passed down to family members and the broader community, enabling them to establish their own sustainable food sources and potentially even create small-scale home-based food businesses, enhancing community resilience.

Educational Opportunities and Skill Development:

This hands-on training not only teaches practical life skills but also helps build confidence, discipline, and teamwork among participants.

Health and Wellness Education

By focusing on nutrition education, it empowers teens to make healthier food choices, which leads to long-term improvements in community health. The program helps raise awareness about the benefits of eating organic, locally-grown produce

Community Building and Social Cohesion

It provides a space for people to come together, share resources, and build relationships, strengthening the social fabric of the community. It also cultivates a shared sense of pride in growing and consuming healthy food, promoting collective responsibility for community well-being.

Sustainability and Long-Term Benefits:

Participants learn not just how to grow food, but how to do so in a way that minimizes environmental impact.
